Dr Georgia Dawson
Dr Georgia Dawson is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Education, University of Melbourne. Georgia has managed a range of complex, multi-year education-based research and evaluation projects spanning mental health, social-emotional learning and literacy and numeracy at the program and policy level. Georgia also lectures in child development, exceptionalities (Autism and ADHD) in the Master of Educational Psychology. As a registered psychologist, Georgia has experience in the primary and tertiary education sectors across a range of needs including psychotherapy and counselling, psychological assessment of learning difficulties, screening and assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders and implementation of educational interventions.
Dr Dawson led the development of the Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHiPS) training program and continues to lead implementation of the training program in MHiPS schools across Victoria as it rolls out statewide, and Queensland in its pilot phase. Dr Dawson also contributes to codesign of the MHiPS model and leads adaptation of the MHiPS training program in new jurisdictions.
